In short: we only use your details to answer your enquiry and do your job. We never sell them, and this website does not track you with advertising cookies.
Who we are
Select Print Ltd runs this website and the shop at Shop 1-2, South Harrow Market, Northolt Road, Harrow HA2 0EU. We are registered in England and Wales, company number 13308640 (VAT number GB 411 9240 29), and we are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) as a data controller.
If you have any question about your details, email info@select-print.co.uk, call 020 8616 1655 or ask at the counter.
What we collect and why
- Enquiry, quote and design forms. Your name, email address, phone number if you give it, business name, your message, the options you chose, and any photos, logos or artwork you add. They are emailed straight to our inbox so we can reply, send a proof and give you a price. They are not saved on this website.
- WhatsApp, phone and email. If you contact us this way, we use your messages to help you.
- Jobs and orders. The details we need to make, deliver or fit your order, take payment and send invoices. For signs this can include photos and measurements of your premises.
- Number plates. By law we must check proof of your name and address (such as a driving licence) and your right to the registration (usually the V5C) before road-legal plates are made, and keep a record of the sale. If you order online, you send us photos of these documents with your order, and they arrive in our email inbox. Plates are supplied by NumberPlateMaster, our sister company and a DVLA-registered number plate supplier. If you don't give us these documents, we can't supply the plates.
Our reasons for using your details
UK data protection law says we must have a reason to use your details. Ours are:
- To give you a quote or do your job (a contract, or steps you asked us to take before one).
- Because the law requires it, for example number plate records and tax records.
- Our legitimate interests in running the business, such as answering enquiries, keeping simple records of past jobs and showing photos of signs we have made. If you don't want a photo of your sign shown on our website, just tell us and we will take it down.
- Your consent, only if we ever send you offers by email or WhatsApp. You can say stop at any time.
The online design tools
The business card designer and the Design Online tool work inside your own browser. While you design, your work and any photos you add stay on your device, and the design tool remembers your design in your browser so you can come back to it. Nothing is sent to us until you press Send my design. Then we receive a picture of your design, the photos and logos you used, and the details you typed in the form.
Please only upload photos, logos and text that you own or have permission to use. See our terms.
How long we keep your details
Enquiries that don't turn into a job are deleted after a reasonable time. Job, invoice and number plate records are kept for as long as the law requires, then deleted: number plate sale records for 3 years, and accounting records for 6 years. Photos of your documents are kept only as long as we need them for the number plate record.
Keeping your details safe
This website uses a secure (https) connection, so what you type and upload is encrypted on its way to us. The website does not have customer accounts or a database, and forms are emailed to us rather than stored online. Only our team can see your details.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the details we hold about you,
- correct details that are wrong,
- delete your details, or stop or limit how we use them,
- send your details to you or another company in a common format,
- stop using your details for marketing, at any time.
Just email info@select-print.co.uk. We will reply within one month. Some records, such as number plate and tax records, have to be kept by law. If you are not happy with how we have handled your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
